I am a once-a-weeker when it comes to the laundry scene. However, I'm starting to re-think my methods. For a couple reasons I guess. First of all - the once a week method means many many loads in one day. And supposedly no washer is made for load after load. It is bad for the machine. First time I had heard of that - but hey. I guess it makes sense. And, well I love folding laundry and putting it neatly in the hamper, I don't love putting away in the closets and drawers. Maybe having just a little bit to put away at a time would combat that.Then my sister informed me of her new load a day system and since I had never seen her laundry area so perfectly clean, I thought. Maybe I should give this load a day method a try.
So I'm curious.....what do you do?
i like the comic. :) When i run out of clothes to wear, or my favourite item of clothing is dirty, then I wash a bunch of stuff. And if I feel like doing more than one load, I do. Probably not the best system either...
ReplyDeleteI do diapers every other day, a load of coloured and a load of white mid week and then a few loads on the weekend - coloured, linens and A's work clothes.
ReplyDeletelol. probably too much detail. I'm with ya on the hating to put it actually in the closet. It usually hangs out in the laundry basket for a few days. Now that H is a bit older I'm kinda pushing her to help with putting her own clothes away which is nice.
I've never heard about a machine not being made to do load after load...
I usually do laundry twice a week and it adds up to about three - five loads and it usually gets folded and put away right away. I hate trekking downstairs to do it, can't wait til laundry is on the main floor. When it was on the main floor I would do smaller loads more often...
ReplyDeleteWhen our walk-in closet looks messy from a barfing laundry basket, it's time to do laundry. It usually works out to a few loads every week on whatever random day I feel like it. It seems that "medium colours" get done the most often because the kids clothes are in this category. My laundry is on the main floor... that doesn't seem to assist with speed. I'm usually about two weeks behind on folding (much to my husband's chagrin).
