here we are

The first post on the new blog. Thanks for following me over here.

Today I am preparing for our small trip away. My parents have a cabin on Mayne Island. It is a wonderfully relaxing place, and I am saddened that I have not been there in over 2 years! And I have no one to blame but myself for that.

John has 3 days off because of all the extra time he has been putting in this summer. It has been really hectic at his work lately, and he has been taking on a lot. It is a bit surprising, because we thought it might get really slow because of the tough economic times. (probably the most overused phrase of the year.)

Laundry is done, kids bag is packed, dad's favourite cookies are made, John's favourite cookies are ready to be baked....and I am excited for a little R&R. But first up - baby shower tonight!
